Imposition of tariffs by the United States
On April 26, 2017, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce initiated an investigation into the effects of U.S. aluminium imports on national security. Later on, the Department of Commerce has issued a report determining that aluminium imports are detrimental to the national security and that the President should take trade actions to restrict such imports. Since then, the AAC has been working with the federal and provincial governments to ensure that no tariffs or quotas are imposed on Canadian aluminium. The following section includes all documents produced by the AAC in this context.
