Alouette

Inaugurated in 1992, Aluminerie Alouette is an independent aluminium production company with five partners: AMAG Austria Metall AG (Austria, 20%), Hydro Aluminum (Norway, 20%), Investissement Québec (Canada, 6.67%), Marubeni Metals & Minerals (Japan, 13.33%) and Rio Tinto (Canada, 40%).

With nearly 900 employees and an annual production capacity of more than 620,000 tons of primary aluminium, it is the largest private employer in Sept-Îles on the North Shore of Quebec and the largest aluminium smelter in the Americas. The Sept-Îles plant places sustainable development and innovation at the heart of its actions.
